Ingredients

  • 2 ½ pounds of potatoes
  • 4 tablespoons butter (or more if you like)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Peel and cube the potatoes.
  2. Place potatoes into a large cooking pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and then boil until fork tender, about 15 minutes.
  3. Drain the potatoes and return to the pan. Add in the butter, salt, and pepper.
  4. Mash with a potato masher until no lumps remain.
  5. Serve warm.
