Quick Tips for Making Keto Mug Cake
There’s really nothing to this recipe, you mix it up and cook it in less than a minute, it really is that simple to make a keto chocolate mug cake!
Start by making sure that the mug you choose is large enough, is microwave safe, and has no chips or cracks in it.
You can use any low carb sweetener you prefer, just make sure you like the taste of it and know how it cooks up. I prefer Lakanto Monkfruit or So Nourished Blend.
Microwave cook time will vary depending on the power of your model, so cook it for 45 seconds and then check it and add 5-10 more seconds cooking time as needed.
If you have low carb chocolate chips you could add a tablespoonful to the batter, and if you have whipped cream that would make a wonderful topping!

Hi,
Do you have have flavors for the mug cake other than chocolate?
Thank you.Reply
Sheena Strain says
I have not tried it with other flavors, but you could omit the cocoa powder and try a little vanilla extract instead? maybe a 1/4 tsp would be enough.

Do you have low carb, low fat, high protein desserts and main meals?

I don’t think I have any desserts that fit that, but I have several dinners that would work for low card and low fat if you use the search function. My Cilantro Lime Chicken would work.

Hi Sue, in what way did it not work?

Mine turned out the texture of a lighter chocolate cake—not gooey at all. I definitely like it gooey and chocolate so need to switch something up. Oil for butter?? Less flour??

It’s hard to say without seeing the cake, but you might want to experiment with the cook time and try slightly less time in the microwave and see how that works.

I love this and use it as my base recipient I have experimented and done many things with this. Mine use to be too dry but found out was overcooking them due to this post. I tried using 1 tbsp pecan flour in place of 1 of the almond flour for a different flavor did well. Also used Libby’s salted caramel chips in it such a versatile recipe thanksReply
