It’s back to school season! CSDG has been involved in over 90 school related projects including many that have that opened in the last couple years. Most recently, Battle Creek High School opened its door in Maury County, making it the biggest school in the County with capacity for over 2,000 students. We are proud to be a part of shaping kids educational experiences! CSDG is pleased to announce the promotion of Jeremy Westmoreland to Principal. Jeremy has been an integral part of CSDG since 2014, bringing over 24 years of civil engineering experience, predominantly focused on projects in Nashville and Davidson County. Jeremy has been instrumental in the successful completion of numerous landmark projects, crafting innovative site-specific design solutions. His notable contributions include The Embassy and One Hotels, Margaritaville Hotel, Rivertop Apartments, 1200 Broadway, Alloy, and Aspire Gulch. Outside of his professional achievements, Jeremy is a devoted family man. He and his wife, Molly, are proud parents to three young adult children, one of whom is currently interning at CSDG. Committed to continuous learning and community service, Jeremy actively participates in community organizations like the Cooper Trooper Foundation and is dedicated to mentoring the next generation—a philosophy that resonates deeply with CSDG’s core values and mission. As Principal, Jeremy will play a pivotal role in shaping CSDG’s strategic growth, enhancing service opportunities, and advancing the professional development of the CSDG team. CSDG is proud to work with St. Joseph Church & School in Madison, TN, providing civil engineering services for phased campus improvements. Over the last several years, enrollment for the school has grown and Phase 1A, currently in progress, involves extending and widening the pick-up and drop-off, adding more green spaces and developing a new playground closer to the school for increased safety. Phase 1B and 1C will create additional parking to accommodate larger events and alleviate parking on the street. The final iteration of Phase 1 will be an athletic field for soccer, football and other activities. A new multi-purpose facility is planned in Phase 2, designed to house administrative offices, some classroom space, performance space, concessions, gymnasium, and locker rooms. Meet CSDG’s 2024 Summer InternsCade Merryman, Civil Intern, (College of Engineering at Tennessee Technological University) grew up in Gallatin, TN. His interest in civil engineering was sparked by his dad, a contractor. Watching and learning from him developed a curiosity in Cade about the beginnings of a project, the planning involved as well as site design. At CSDG, he is getting to put his local knowledge to use working on projects in his hometown. Caleb Neal, Civil Intern, (College of Engineering at Tennessee Technological University) graduated from Mt. Juliet High School. This is where he first took an architectural engineering course which led to his passion for CAD. He attended Vol State for 2 years before transferring to TTU. This summer, he is gaining a better understanding of site design and is thrilled to be working on projects in his own community of Mt. Juliet! Claire Hounshell, Civil Intern, (Harding University) is from Franklin, TN. She enjoys sketching and drawing as well as math and science. She chose to pursue civil engineering which utilizes both her artistic abilities and analytical skills. With an interest in land development, Claire is excited to be working on subdivision and residential projects at CSDG.Joseph Cochran, LA Intern, (Louisiana State University) grew up in Lake Charles, LA. He has always been very creative and artistic, and enjoys nature, which drew him toward a career in landscape architecture. Working on multiple project types with our multi-disciplined team, he is broadening his perspective and expanding his skillset. John Helphinstine, Civil Intern, (University of Tennessee, Knoxville) grew up in Johnson City, TN. His interest in design prompted him to study civil engineering. Through this internship, he desired to further develop his technical skills. John is fulfilling this goal as he is actively working on projects in various stages of design. Nate Westmoreland, Civil Intern, (Mississippi State University) grew up in Franklin, TN. This is his 2nd summer interning with CSDG. Nate’s proficiency in math and science and his dad’s profession as a civil engineer influenced his career path. Nate is increasingly growing in his understanding and design capabilities. We are excited to be working with developer IPB Properties and HASTINGS on this mixed-use project at 1401 Church Street in Nashville. Our team is providing the civil engineering for the plan, a 26-story residential tower with 70,000 square feet of commercial space. The project site encompasses a full city block and construction on Phase I is set to begin this summer. With rental properties in high demand, this new development will help meet the need for housing with proximity to downtown. Coworking spaces on the first two levels will give working professionals the opportunity to host meetings or work outside their residences without the commute. An elevated pool and indoor fitness center as well as an indoor/outdoor dog walk for pet owners are designed to support an active lifestyle.
